Sesssion 3 / Sesión 3

1. Warm-up: In pairs, students try to remember as many names, people and personal objects from the previous class.

2. I tell the students to leave the English material on a table in the middle of the class.

3. While the people who have thought about the name for the class write it on a paper, the rest browse the material on the table. Together with the name students are required to briefly explain the reasons why they have chosen it.

4. Poll:

• I read out the names and the explanations and write them on the board.
• Students write their choice on a piece of paper and put it into a box.
• I ask for a volunteer to write on the board while I read out the votes.
• If there is a tie, students have to vote again between those.

5. Fame costs. (See different post for this activity.)

HW:
-Think of the easiest and the most complicated grammar for them.
-Find and print a picture for the class related to the name chosen.

N.B. I always try to give homework to do that later we'll use in class, in the following if possible. Not all my students do it, that's for sure, but some way if they see that we revise it and it is used to do activities in class, somehow they take it more seriously. At least some of them hahaha.

1. En parejas los estudiantes intentan recordar tanto nombres, personas y objetos personales de clase anterior como les sea posible.

2. Les digo a los alumnos que dejen el material de inglés en una mesa en el centro de la clase.

3. Mientras los que han pensado en un nombre para la clase lo escriben en un papel, el resto de la clase ojea el material de la mesa. Junto con el nombre los estudiantes tienen que explicar brevemente las razones por las que lo han escogido.

4. Votaciones: 

• Leo en voz alta los nombre y las explicaciones y los escribo en la pizarra.
• Los estudiantes escriben el elegido en un papel y lo ponen dentro de una caja.
• Pido voluntarios para escribir en la pizarra mientras leo los votos.
• Si hay un empate, los estudiantes tienen que votar otra vez entre los empatados.

5. La fama cuesta. (Ver entrada aparte sobre esta actividad.)

Deberes:

-Pensar en la gramática más sencilla y más complicada para cada uno.
-Encontrar e imprimir una foto/dibujo para la clase relacionado con el nombre elegido.

Nota: Siempre procuro mandar deberes que luego vayamos a utilizar en clase, en la siguiente siempre que sea posible. No todos los alumnos lo hacen, eso está claro, pero de alguna manera si ven que lo revisamos y sirve para hacer actividades en clase eso les hace tomárselo más en serio. A algunos por lo menos, jejeje.
